The season for spring cleaning has arrived, and the streets of Elkins are no exception....

I clean my sidewalks, house etc. However, the street sweeper should be optional. If I forget one week I shouldn't be dunned for doing so. And If I want the street cleaned, I can hose it down myself.
All the sweeper does is push stuff around. Officer White' comment about being "more sanitary" is a joke.
WVResident is picking strawman arguments.

It's hard to believe that some people really do not want the streets sweeped - do you sweep your house, porch, sidewalks? Being too lazy to move your vehicle for the street sweeper is like being too lazy to lift your feet when your mother comes by with the vacuum cleaner.

Suggesting a city wide boycott of the street sweeper. If no one moves their vehicle will the city really ticket everyone? What a waste of city money.
Isn't it ironic that the Police Dept. who exists to "protect and serve" are actually putting some children in harms' way with this program. The people who don't have driveways are forced to park on the sidewalks whereby forcing school aged children to walk in the streets on their way to the bus stop and/or to school.
Really hard for the street sweeper to pick up blades of grass??? Or it just doesn't want to? Come on Mister Street Sweeper, a little passive aggressive after the long and lonely winter? My $12 dollar Dust Buster will come and help.
