I stand corrected Pure. But I guess there's some who are even more stupid than I previously thought. lol. Perhaps they haven't quite understood or comprehended what the 'shapes' or colors of signs refer to?!? You still can't fix stupid though.

What's the problem? Can't read a STOP sign? Geez. STOP signs work as long as people can read.

Further, it was obviously easier to implement the suggestions of a quasi-group with no training in traffic control rather than expend some effort in researching better alternatives such as installing sensor strips which activate traffic signals. Regressive rather than progressive is the theme here.

This scheme is difficult to get one's mind wrapped around it. Some years ago, Bukhannon had only two stop lights and on Saturday evenings, city police would be assigned to direct traffic at the intersections without stop lights. Later when traffic flow increased, more stop lights were installed, which greatly aided traffic flow and help alleviate congestion. Fast forward to a "hair-brained" scheme perpetrated by a "group" to eliminate usage of stop lights. Now, many drivers familar with the lack of stop lights avoid those areas. To say that it's foolish to stop and wait for a green light at a traffic light when there is no other traffic is a waste of time,there was and is a better solution. Use the same method used successfully by many municipalities and several of those are located in WV. Install a sensor strip at the intersection which activates the stop light. The system also monitors traffice flow and yields a green light only if there is no approaching traffi
