He said "the county runs into a deficit when experiencing losses due to weather events such as Superstorm Sandy, and when the child nutrition program loses estimated income because of the storm and school closures". "In the last four years, Randolph County has experienced a loss of approximately 178 students over the period," George said. So let me get this straight... It costs more money if the students are not in school then it does when they are in school?

Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. – John Adams (1814)

Yep, Maj; if we could keep our "republic" we'd be better off. And yes the liberal democrats are ruining themselves and people even knew this would happen back in the 1800's. Liberals haven't changed much!

People are blaming the current Administrators.....wrong. The. Administrators answer to the Board of Education Members. Most of the Board members have been around for a long time. One in particular has been on the board for at least 15 years. Don't you think they should have caught this excessive spending? Two of the members will go along with whatever Tygart Valley wants and needs. Don't get me started on how that is not a conflict of interest. Three board members are up for election and all three can and should be voted out. I hope this guy gets the documentation promised from the superintendent and doesn't get pushed aside.

Thank you, Mr. Jones. There are many of us who are outraged that Dr. Phares left us in almost a million dollars of debt. Sadly, he left Mr. George to try to explain it away. It's sad that NONE of the board members would even address this. Most would rather ignore the incompetence at the BOE.
