The wedding ceremony, attended by family and friends, was performed just before sunset on the Spruce Knob benchmark. The bride was escorted down the path to the ceremony site by her daughter, Meggan Alyse Erickson.
Immediately following the ceremony, the couple had their first dance on top of the observation tower to Brad Paisley’s “She’s Everything,” selected by the bridegroom. The bouquet and garter were both tossed from the first platform of the tower after the dance.
An all-day celebration was held the following day at the couple’s home in Barbour County. The wedding cake, made by Anita Curtis, was adorned with a summer floral arrangement of white and yellow roses and gerber daisies. The bride is the daughter of Donna K. Erickson of Barbour County and Jack D. Roy Jr. of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of Mary Murphy of Barbour County and the late Andy Lee Murphy and Pearl Roy of Elkins and the late Dempsey Roy. She is employed by the Randolph-Elkins Health Department as a sanitarian.
The bridegroom is the son of Judy and Dan Bryant of Philippi and Stephen B. Cross of Belington. He is the grandson of Lucille Phillips of Barbour County and the late Estle Phillips, Louise Cross of Belington and the late Bernard Cross and Iola Bryant and the late Kelley Bryant. He is self-employed and is a firefighter with the Philippi Volunteer Fire Department.
The couple resides in Barbour County.
