Eva L. Thomas

    Eva L. Thomas, 93, of Cleveland, Ohio, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, in Normandy Manor Nursing Home in Rocky River, Ohio.


    She was born May 9, 1914, at Silica, a daughter of the late Frank Sines and Ida Daft Sines.


    On Feb. 2, 1931, she was married to Albert Gordon Thomas, who preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1981.


    Surviving are three daughters, Alberta Fitzgerald of Dennison, Ohio, Judy Eubank of Cleveland, Ohio, and Ida M. Tenney and husband, Ron, of Clover, S.C.; two sons, Jim Thomas and wife, Edie, of Elizabethton, Tenn., and John Thomas and wife, Kathy, of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lenora Loudin of Florida.


    Also preceding her in death were one son, Jerry Thomas; three sisters, Pearl Longdon, Elsie Wilde and Elva Evans; one brother, Arlie Sines; and two grandsons, Mike Eubank and Rick Fitzgerald.


    She was a nurse’s aide and member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.


    Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bradley Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery at Selbyville. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
