Purple Fiddle Lines Up Entertainment

December 4, 2007
The Purple Fiddle Coffee House and Mountain Market in Thomas will welcome several entertainers to the stage beginning Friday. This weekend’s lineup includes the Junior League Band, the Woodbox Gang and Christine Havrilla.

The Junior League Band will bring their “rural-tinged” Americana music, driven by banjo, guitar and mandolin to the Purple Fiddle Friday at 8:30 p.m. The band’s music is highlighted by “the sweet vocals of the delectable Lissy Rosemont,” an event spokesperson said. Admission is $7

On Saturday, the Woodbox Gang will skillfully combine the American roots music styles of bluegrass, delta blues, folk and traditional country with the aggressive delivery of rock to create their own style of music. This blending has earned the band the name “Trashcan Americana.” The group will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. and admission is $10.

At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Christine Havrilla offers “the kind of pop-guitar songwriting that definitely should not be overlooked,” the spokesperson said. Admission is $5.
