(CU and The Inter-Mountain/Suzanne Stewart)
I ACCUSE — The audience acted as the jury during the Sexual Assault Awareness Month’s mock rape trial Wednesday evening at the Old Brick Playhouse. Victim Melissa Stanton, portrayed by Chenell Coppock, right, tells the court what happened the night she was raped as Assistant District Attorney Kristina Clarke, played by Shannon Jones, asks her questions. Judge Donald Drift, played by Michael Parker, and Trooper Jim Kennedy, played by Elkins police officer Brad Sharp listen carefully to testimony as the night in questioned unfolded through several witnesses’ recollections.
