He was born June 28, 1989, a son of John and Paula Lynn McCauley Lanham of Mill Creek.
Adam was a unique young man who all that met him loved and who always had a smile on his face. He was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the class of 2007. Adam chose to be a coal miner which is a part of his family heritage. He looked up to his father and brothers who are also miners. His hobbies included camping, hunting, four-wheeling and being around his friends.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Shae Scott; three brothers, Johnny Lanham and Missy of Mill Creek, Joshua Lanham and wife, Laura, of Valley Bend and Michael Lanham of Mill Creek; his nephew and nieces, Xavier, Jozlin and Joelee Lanham, all of Valley Bend, and Shayleah and Abigail Lanham of Mill Creek. Also surviving are his great-grandmother, Ruis Lanham; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him unconditionally; and a very special cousin, Sarah Beth Barrickman. Very special friends, Jim and Angie Losh and Mike and Amber Phillips also survive.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Percy Lanham, Evelyn Taylor Lanham Bucher, and James and Viola McCauley; great-grandfathers, Bert Lanham and Sterl “Nig” Taylor; and great-grandmother, Vernie Taylor.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will b conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. William “Wink” Lanham and the Rev. Greg Lanham officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hemlock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
