Two Injured in Truck Accident

By CARRA HIGGINS, Staff Writer
POSTED: September 9, 2008

The driver of a truck may have lost control of her vehicle causing it to flip several times near Kerens on Saturday, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. The 8:30 p.m. accident remains under investigation.

Tammy Leach, 43, of Montrose was driving a Chevrolet S-10 when police think she lost control in an "S" turn, according to Randolph County Sheriff J.D. Roy. No other vehicles were involved.

A juvenile passenger was also in the truck at the time of the accident, Roy said. Both the driver and passenger were taken to Davis Memorial Hospital, however, Leach was later transported to a hospital in Morgantown, according to Roy. Their conditions were not available at press time today.

No citations have been issued, but investigators believe failure to maintain control of the vehicle contributed to the causse of to the wreck, Roy said.
