April Marie Drum and Brandon Pierce Whedbee, both of Harrisburg, N.C., were married Oct. 4 at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, N.C., with the Rev. Jimmy Britt officiating.

The bride is the only daughter of James E. Drum Jr. of Adams Creek, N.C., and Tammy Poling Mills of Great Neck Point, N.C. She is also the only grandchild of Lawrence "Larry" and Janette "Jan" Weese Poling, formerly of Elkins and currently residing in Great Neck Point, N.C. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Leo Bert and Edna L. Weese and Mildred G. Poling formerly of Elkins and now residing in Lexington, Ky., and the late Clarence "Jim" Poling. Her paternal grandparents are James E. and Barbara Drum Sr. of Emerald Isle, N.C.

The bridegroom is the eldest son of Jeffrey and Sharon Whedbee of Harrisburg, N.C. He is the grandson of Cmdr. Daniel and Claire Anderson of Concord, N.C., and James and Jean Todd Jr. of Avon Park, Fla.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Nuptial music was provided by soloist/pianist the Rev. Lee Chewning and included "It is Well with My Soul," "As the Deer," "Two Become One," "Angus Dei," "Beauty of the Lord," and the recessional, "The Happy Song."

The matron of honor was Jana Wells of Charlotte, N.C., and the maid of honor was Nicole Sealy of Sam Rayburn, Texas.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Clemenic and Kristin Bush of Charlotte, N.C., and Marissa Parsons and Amy Chewning of Mooresville, N.C.

The best man was the brother of the bridegroom, Andrew Whedbee, from Boone, N.C. Groomsmen were Myrick Parker, Drew Tucker and Travis Bush, all of Charlotte, N.C.; Matthew Trent of Harrisburg, N.C.; and Shawn Hyde of Los Angeles, Calif.

The program attendants were Sailor and Gabrielle Drum and the guest book attendant was Summer Drum, all cousins of the bride.

The bride's bouquet and all flowers were in keeping with a fall color scheme and the wedding and reception colors of burnt orange and brown.

Floral arrangements were in loving memory of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Whedbee, grandparents of the bridegroom.

Assisting with the wedding were Tami Sherrill and Sherry Peele, both of the Charlotte, N.C., area.

The reception was hosted at West Cabarrus Baptist Church. Assisting were Jennifer Hill, Leigh Walters, Robin Davis, Nikki Hathcock, Catherine Hatcher, Ellie Bagley, Wanda Taylor and Stephanie Taylor, all of the Charlotte, N.C., area.

The couple took a week-long honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Cancun, Mexico. While there, the bridegroom won a singing contest at the resort which entitles the couple to an all expense paid return trip on their first anniversary.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is employed at Cox Group, Huntersville, N.C., as an account manager.

The bridegroom graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and is employed by Christ Community Church, Huntersville, N.C., as a worship pastor.

The couple will reside in Harrisburg, N.C.
