Timothy Phillips of Bridgeport and Deborah Riley-Armstrong of Steamboat Springs, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Desiree Phillips, to Tye Poling, son of Roger and Patricia Poling of Buckhannon.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Bridgeport High School and received her master's degree in speech pathology from West Virginia University in May. She is employed as a speech-language pathologist for Therapy Services LLC in Bridgeport .
Her fiance is a 2001 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and received a bachelor's degree in history from West Virginia University. He is employed as a contractor with Alleblue Handyman in Buckhannon.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 29 at the Evangel Baptist Church in Bridgeport. A formal reception will follow at the Bridgeport Conference Center. The couple plans a honeymoon in Jamaica, and will reside in Lost Creek.
