The Elkins High School class of 1959 recently celebrated a milestone 50th anniversary. There were 75 classmates and 48 guests, now living coast-to-coast, in attendance for the three-day celebration on July 17-19.

The weekend began late Friday afternoon with 1950s music as the backdrop of an indoor picnic at the Elks Country Club, where classmates renewed acquaintances and reminisced of times passed.

Saturday's events started with a spirited afternoon performance at the American Mountain Theater. Former cheerleader Susan Campbell Shortridge took center stage to open the show and lead the group in singing the traditional EHS fight song.
