POSTED: September 30, 2009

The Philip Barbour High School Homecoming parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. today in Philippi. Other activities include a football game and dance on Friday evening.

Line-up for the parade will be at 6 p.m. on Railroad Avenue. It will step off at Sheetz and conclude at Rite Aid Pharmacy. The parade will feature marching bands from Barbour County Schools, along with the Philip Barbour Football team and homecoming princesses, among other floats.

Homecoming princesses include seniors Brianna Stalnaker, Sarah Strait, Kazzie Kelley, Malissa Lake and Mariah Jennings; juniors Sarah Garcia and Paige Sturm; sophomores Ciera Nestor and Kelsey Toompas; freshmen Kaylie Howell and Ashtin Haddix. Their fathers will serve as their escorts.

The minor court includes Cadence Carter, Maya Bender, Trevor Furby and Ryan Greathouse.

The theme for this year's homecoming is "Let Loose on Liberty." The Colts will challenge Liberty in high school football action Friday at 7:30 p.m. Following the game, a homecoming dance will take place at the school.
