Dick and Rose Trochlil celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 22.
The couple were married in 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, Minn. They left Minnesota shortly thereafter and have lived in nine different towns and six different states throughout their marriage including Elkins, where they have resided for 30 years.
Mr. Trochlil worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 40 years and Mrs. Trochlil taught and substituted school in Randolph County for 28 years.

Mrs. Trochlil has served as the local Emma Scott Garden Club president as well as roles at the state level and is currently a National Flower Show Master Judge.
Mr. Trochlil is an award-winning photographer and a masterful storyteller.
Mr. and Mrs. Trochlil celebrated the anniversary with their family of nine children and spouses, and 23 grandchildren in Winchester, Va., where they currently live.
