Mary A. Gilroy

Mary Alice Gilroy, 76, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, in Nella's Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 12, 1933, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Claude and Olive Isner Everett.

In March of 1952, she was married to William Harold Gilroy, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2009.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Gilroy of Elkins and Donald E. Gilroy of Valley Bend; one grandson, Noah Gilroy; two brothers, Birtsel Everett of North Carolina, and Cecil Everett of Massachusetts; and three sisters, Carol Brown of Texas, Velma Brimston of Ohio, and Melva Newman of Pennsylvania.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Ronald, Glen, Jerry and Kenny Everett; and one infant daughter, Cynthia Marie Gilroy.

Mrs. Gilroy was a homemaker and a graduate of Elkins High School. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Elkins.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Toms officiating. Interment will follow in the Canfield Cemetery at Lower Cheat. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mary Alice Gilroy.
