Motorcycles may want to mark their calendars for the 74th Mountain State Forest Festival because in one week they will take a ride that sprawls three counties, and enjoy biker games, food and live entertainment. On Aug. 28, riders will have the chance to win a $1,000 custom paint job as well as other prizes.
Registration for the poker run begins at 9 a.m. at the Beverly Fire Hall and bikes will pull out by 10 a.m. The fee to ride is $15 and $10 for a passenger. All registration will include food and entertainment following the ride.
Each rider will receive a T-shirt with their registration. Co-riders will have to pay an additional $5 to receive a shirt.
After leaving the fire department, the first stop on the ride will be the Shop n' Save Express in Junior. Riders will then make their way to Lil Moe's in Philippi before heading to Dinnlyn's on Route 119 between Philippi and Buckhannon. Riders will then make their way to Kanawha in Buckhannon before returning to the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department. Following the ride, biker games will take place at the fire hall.
Food and live music by D.C. Riggs will also follow the ride. Prizes for the ride include: a $1,000 custom paint job, motorcycle tires, a tool kit, Harley Davidson apparel and cash.
