Two injured in two-car collision

October 28, 2010
ACCIDENT — The Elkins detachment of the West Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 33 west near Crystal Springs. Trooper D.R. Wolford said the wreck involving a white Lincoln SUV and a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo sent both drivers to the hospital. According to Wolford, the male driver of the Monte Carlo was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown by helicopter and his condition is unknown. The female driver of the Lincoln was taken to Davis Memorial Hospital by Randolph County EMS and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Wolford said the accident is still under investigation. He said it appears the driver of the Monte Carlo traveled off the right side of the road, turned sideways when he came back onto the road and nearly spun completely around before striking the Lincoln.
