60th anniversary

Maurice L. and Bertha L. (Wood) Allman of Philippi recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Sept. 3, 1950, at Mingo Presbyterian Church in Mingo by the Rev. Roger R. Melton.

Mr. Allman is the son of the late John I. and Reta B. (Law) Allman. He retired from Tygarts Valley Conservation District in 1983 as RC&D coordinator.

Mrs. Allman is the daughter of the late Norval B. and Viva S. (Kisamore) Wood. She retired from Barbour County school system in 1994 as secretary and auditor.

They are the parents of two daughters, Pamela R. Corathers and husband, Robert H., of Mineral Wells and Elaine C. Allman and fiance, JR Coulter, of Philippi. They have four grandchildren, Julie R. (Smith) Warsinskey of Georgetown, Massachusetts, Grayson H. Smith of Clarksburg, Laura E. Corathers and Jennifer S. Corathers of Mineral Wells.

They are active members of Crim Memorial United Methodist Church.
