Everyone has heard the Christmas story, right? Maybe. But even if you have heard it, it is still nice to be reminded of the beautiful story of Jesus' birth during the Christmas season, a spokesperson said. That is why the students of St. Patrick School invite everyone to attend the annual Christmas Pageant at St. Patrick School gymnasium in Weston on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
Some country folk share about the real meaning of Christmas with a few of their city cousins through exciting songs and funny theatrical drama. Granny and Uncle Earl share the Christmas story - country style - and the students present "It All Happened In The Country."
The entire school enrollment, 161 students, will be featured in the play.
Under the direction of Sherri Jackson, sixth-grade teacher, the pageant is an extension of classroom instruction in reading, religion, language arts, music, art and public speaking.
Assisting Jackson are teachers Susan Moody, Amanda Sherrell, Marlena Reed, Shelly Kraus, Lindsey Clevenger, Cheryl Moore, Kathy Boyle and Cathy Riley. Paul Derico is the school's principal.
Aides Kay Droppleman, Sara VanScoy, Paige Bailey, Shirley Hubbs and Julia Marsh are providing assistance. Kraus will offer the musical accompaniment for the performance. Assistance with costumes, front stage decorations and refreshments is being provided by volunteer parents.
