Kevin P. Stalnaker has been named deputy commissioner for operations for the Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities, a bureau within the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Stalnaker was previously the chief executive officer for William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital located in Weston.
While at Sharpe, Stalnaker was recognized for his outstanding efforts in worksite wellness, becoming a 2010 finalist for the prestigious Caperton Worksite Wellness Award.
He has more than 10 years experience as a senior health care executive in West Virginia. Stalnaker's prior health care experience includes positions with West Virginia United Health System, Davis Health System and Broaddus Hospital. Prior to becoming chief executive officer at Sharpe, Stalnaker served as the chief financial officer at that facility and functioned as the bureau representative in charge of implementing the VistA Electronic Medical Record system for DHHR's facilities.
Stalnaker earned a degree in business administration from West Virginia University and is a certified public accountant. He lives in Lewis County with his wife and their three children.
