While the basic steps to salsa dancing are actually simple and easily learned by most people, the catchy and energetic salsa music makes dancing fun and exhilarating.
Variations on the basic steps can be learned to make the dances more interesting and complex, but salsa dancing can be enjoyed by beginning dancers by knowing just the basics.
Buric, a graduate of Petersburg High School, became interested in salsa dancing after taking a course in it at West Virginia University. She then began learning more salsa dances from friends and has become an experienced amateur salsa teacher. She taught salsa to youngsters in the 2009 Summer Arts Program in Petersburg.
This workshop is presented by the GCAC Inc. and Community Sponsors Supporters of GCAC. Persons requiring accessibility assistance should contact GCAC in advance of the event at P.O. Box 988, Petersburg, West Virginia 26847 or at GCArtsCouncil@gmail.com.
