The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce's Political Action Committee has endorsed Charleston businesswoman Betty Ireland and Morgantown business owner Bill Maloney in the Republican primary for the special gubernatorial election.
"Several of the candidates in the Republican primary are very well qualified to be our next governor. We have endorsed Bill Maloney and Betty Ireland because both are leaders in the business community and understand the struggles of starting and growing a business in West Virginia like very few people. We believe, if selected as the Republican nominee, Bill Maloney or Betty Ireland will be able to wage an effective and aggressive campaign this fall," West Virginia Chamber of Commerce President Steve Roberts said. "We are impressed with all of the Republicans competing in the Republican primary. We know and like Delegate Mitch Carmichael, Sen. Clark Barnes and Putnam County Prosecutor Mark Sorsaia."
The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is the largest pro-jobs advocacy organization in West Virginia. Its members are located in every county of the state and employ more than half of West Virginia's workforce.
