The executive board of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union 132, voted unanimously March 30 to endorse House of Delegates Speaker Rick Thompson for governor in the special gubernatorial election.
"Your record in representing working people and their families is unmatched by any other candidate," IUOE Business Manager Tommy Plymale said in making the announcement.
"I'm proud and honored to have the endorsement of a group that represents so many working men and women in West Virginia," Thompson said. "I believe we need a government that helps create jobs not taxes - and a governor who works for families and small businesses, not special interests."
