Gas prices topped the $4 per gallon threshold Thursday in Buckhannon at the Exxon along West Virginia Route 20, just off Corridor H. A few miles west in Weston, gas remained at $3.85 per gallon. The prices marked a jump of 14 cents this week, as crude oil prices continue to rise on the speculation of possible shortages due to unrest in the Middle East. Last year at this time, drivers were paying an average of $2.88 per gallon in West Virginia.
