Corn Toss Competition planned for Amazing Week

June 9, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

A Cornhole/Corn Toss Competition will be June 23 at Dr. Lively Park during Weston's Amazing Week.

There will be three competitive categories - team, single and teen - and there is a $5 registration fee per entrant.

Cornhole or Corn Toss is similar to horseshoes except players use wooden boxes called cornhole platforms and corn bags instead of horseshoes and metal stakes. Contestants take turns pitching their corn bags at the cornhole platform until a contestant reaches the score of 21 points. A corn bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point.

The competition will use the official rules of the American Cornhole Association.

Interested participants should call the Weston Municipal Building at 304-269-6141 to register.

Dr. Lively Park is located at the corner of Center and 4th Street in Weston.
