Tucker Senior Center plans several July events

July 14, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

The Tucker County Senior Center has several events planned for the remainder of the month, including entertainment and bingo. In addition, organizers are making plans for fall trips.

The Goldenaires Choir will be the special guest entertainment at the Mt. Top Center on Tuesday. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and a covered dish dinner will follow. Covered dish contributions will be appreciated.

A representative from Mountain Hospice will be at the Parsons Center on Friday to host a prize bingo event. The event is set to begin after lunch in the Parsons Center Dining Room.

Looking ahead, the travel committee has completed its plans for the Oct. 19 train ride aboard the Tygart Flyer. There is a cost of the four-hour ride, including transportation to the event and lunch served on the train. Payment is required beforehand to secure the tickets, as they are limited in supply for a train ride at that time of year. For other arrangements concerning transportation, call the Parsons at 304-478-4837.

Also in the fall, the group plans to take a chartered bus to the Carl Hurley Comedy Show in Wheeling. The trip, on Oct. 11, will include a tour of Cabella's, shopping time and sight-seeing in the Wheeling area. Meals will not be provided.

There is a fee for the trip which includes transportation.

For more information, call the Senior Center
