Billy and Carol Burnside of the Salem Ridge community will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2-4 pm. on Aug. 6 at the Rock Cave Fire Hall.
The Burnsides were married Aug. 2, 1961, by the Rev. Luther Feibert in Red House, Maryland.
Mr. Burnside is the son of the late Doyle E. and Hettie (Davison) Burnside. He is retired from construction work and the Upshur County Board of Education.

Mrs. Burnside is the daughter of the late Clinton and Della (Friend) Rice. She is a retired cook of 21 years at the Upshur County Board of Education.
All family and friends are invited to attend the celebration hosted by the couple's niece Connie Petrice and their nephew, Rodney, and his wife, Lori Burnside. The couple asks that gifts be omitted, but cards are welcome.
