Public hearings planned

August 23, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

The Weston Planning Commission and Weston Economic Development Authority (WEDA) will have a joint public hearings at 6 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the Lewis County Senior Center. There will be two hearings that evening.

The first is by the Weston Planning Commission, which is asking for public comment on the Weston Comprehensive Plan. The plan was completed this past spring. Those interested in reading it can call the city building at 304-269-6141. An electronic version can be emailed to interested parties.

The second hearing involves the Weston Economic Development Authority, which is asking for comment on dilapidated houses within Weston city limits. Francis Cogar, chairman of the WEDA, has been making grant applications in an effort to obtain money to demolish the structures. One condition for obtaining money is to solicit public comment.

The senior center is located on West Second Street in Weston.

Both organizations invite the public and encourage Weston residents to attend the hearings.

For more information or questions about the hearing, call Julia Spelsberg at 304-269-3683.
