Seventh annual car show set for Sept. 17

September 6, 2011
The Inter-Mountain

The Lewis County Senior Center will sponsor the seventh annual "Back to the Fifties Car Show" on Sept. 17. Those wanting to show their cars can register from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at a cost of $10 that day.

Organizers will give dash plaques to the first 100 participants and trophies will be awarded for the top 25 participants. There will also be trophies for the Best of Show and the Senior's Choice.

John Oliver, chairman for the event, said that there will be a number of activities in addition to the showing of the cars.

"Our committee has really worked hard on making this a fun event," Oliver said. "We will have a poker walk, cakewalks, Chinese auction with oldies by Dick Harrison. Our car owners enjoy the day and the public has a great time, too."

In case of rain on Sept. 17, the car show will take place Sept. 24.

The proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Lewis County Senior Center programs and activities.

For more information call the Senior Center at 269-5738 or John Oliver at 269-3440.
