Members of West Virginia Kappa Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met on Aug. 11 at 88 Street Restaurant in Buckhannon for an organizational, program planning and goal setting meeting.
Jayne Carson, the club president, reviewed the chapter logo for the biennium - Achieve and Dream with Kappa Sisters sorority goals of KAPPA: kindred sisters, active altruism, perpetual communication, positive leadership, awesome achievements for the year.
Officers were encouraged to attend the State Alpha Delta Kappa Leadership meeting in Flatwoods on Aug. 20. Shari Phillips shared the experience of preparing and serving lunch at the Parrish House on Aug. 5 as a vital part of active altruism. Members were encouraged to update their altruistic forms.
Theodora Plumley holds a white rose she received during a Silver Sister Ceremony in honor of her 25 years as a member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She also received a special guard to wear with her membership pin.
Members then discussed the international and state expectations, updated information, discussed programs, planned altruistic projects and encouraged attendance st the fall Central District meeting planned for Sept. 24 in Randolph County.
Theodora Plumley was recognized with a Silver Sister Ceremony for her 25 years as a member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She received a special guard to wear with her membership pin and a white rose, and was congratulated by her sisters for her contributions to ADK and Kappa Chapter.
Kappa Sisters then had dinner, quiet conversation and much laughter.
