60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer C. Hardesty of Elkins celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August with their immediate family.

They were married Sept. 29, 1951, in Mountain Lake Park, Md., by the Rev. Randall Prince.

Mr. Hardesty is retired from Columbia Gas Co. He is the son of the late Arbanes and Susan Hardesty, who had celebrated their 64th anniversary.

Mrs. Hardesty is a homemaker. She is the daughter of the late Alton and Nellie Wilt, who had celebrated their 55th anniversary.

The Hardestys were resident of Manown until 1968, Glady until 1977, and later moved to Buckhannon before making their home in Elkins in 2009.

Those attending the dinner at the Steer Steakhouse were: their children, Laurella Lawrence and husband, Mike, and Mark Hardesty and wife, Dawn, all of Elkins; grandchildren, Jeff Shifflett of Elkins, Heather Shiflett of Greensboro, N.C., Daniel Hardesty and wife, Jessica, of Morgantown, Mrs. Kevin (Kelly) Roth of Crossett, Ariz., and Scott Hardesty of Elkins; great-grandchildren, Kailey Shifflett of Calpine, Calif., and Amyah Harris of Greensboro, N.C. One son, Larry Hardesty, is deceased.
