FLATWOODS - Lewis County opened up its rebuilding season Tuesday night on the road against a very strong Braxton County squad, with the Lady Eagles prevailing 66-10.
"We struggled with the turnovers and rebounding," Lewis County coach Dave Gosa said. "But this was a very tough Braxton County team. We are rebuilding and it will be a process. We simply need to stay positive and work on improving each game."
Braxton County vaulted to a 35-3 halftime lead, and extended the margin in the second half.
Corri Phillips led the balanced Eagle attack with 12 points.
Cassie Butcher powered the Minutemaids with six points.
Lewis County returns to action Friday night with a Big 10 Conference road game at Robert C. Byrd.
