Robert "Glenn" Schoonover and Arbutus "Sis" Schoonover of Chenoweth Creek Road will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Jan. 5.
The couple were married on Jan. 5, 1947, by the Rev. Albert Dimock at his home in Elkins.
Mr. Schoonover is the son of the late William and Minnie Triplett Schoonover. He is retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways.

Mrs. Schoonover is the daughter of the late John and Gladys Kerns Teter and is retired from?Davis Trust Co.
Their six children and their spouses are Robert "Bobby John" Schoonover, who died of cancer in 1973, Theda Antolini of Princeton; Glenda and Denver Matthew, Faye and "Butch" Isenhart, Clif Schoonover, Judy and Tom Ritchie, all of Elkins; and Steve Schoonover of Norton.
Their grandchildren are Shelley and Jeff Hornick, Angie and David Simmons, David and Monica Schoonover, Nicole and Neal Cooper, John Matthew, Leah and Ben Shepler, Eric Antolini, Jack Neubauer and God grandchildren Annmarie Raschella and Ian Jones.
Their great-grandchildren are Justin Hornick, Kaylea and Emma Simmons, Shandon and R.J. Schoonover, Sam Cooper, Isaac Shepler, and Jade, Trevor and Alex Neubauer.
They also are parents and grandparents to an extended family of friends and relatives.
An open house to celebrate their anniversary will be from 2-6 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the American Legion Hall. All friends and family are invited to attend. Gifts are to be omitted, but cards, old pictures and memories are welcome.
