In years past, people didn't really think about what happened to things they threw into the trash. Times have changed, especially recently in Randolph County where recycling efforts have begun to pick up steam.
In the coming months, the Randolph County Commission and the Solid Waste Authority will be working together to encourage recycling and ensure refuse is disposed of properly. Namely, they plan to create a brochure and host public meetings around the county to assess residents' needs and supply them with information.
The hope of the two groups is to keep the county's byways and waterways free of discarded items and make sure residents know how and where they can get rid of things they no longer need.
The dates for the meetings haven't yet been scheduled, but it's important to keep a lookout for these sessions. If everyone plays a part, it will be much easier to reduce, reuse and recycle.
