Jim Crowley, who was a West Virginia Weights and Measure inspector for 35 years, presents a scale to the West Virginia Railroad Museum on Tuesday in Elkins. The scale was used to measure railroad freight cars and compute the weight of freight. Crowley restored the scale, which took about four months. Pictured, from left, are Denver Barnett, a member of the West Virginia Railroad Museum board of directors; Crowley; Jim Schoonover, West Virginia Railroad Museum vice president; and John Smith, West Virginia Railroad Museum director.
