Area couples can take part in a romantic evening while riding the Valentine Express Dinner Train on Saturday.
This annual train event, hosted by the South Side Depot in Petersburg, provides visitors with a unique alternative to the traditional Valentine dining experience and a wonderful way to see an area known as the "HeartBeat" of the Potomac Highlands.
Passengers on the "Valentine Express Dinner Train" will begin boarding at 4:30 p.m. at the South Side Depot.
"Although we host a variety of train events throughout the year, the Valentine Express is one of our favorites," said Eileen Sindledecker, proprietor of the South Side Depot. "We enjoy welcoming sweethearts from all over to enjoy the elegant, yet casual evening and the romantic atmosphere of our vintage train cars."
The train will be debarking on the 2.5-hour trip through the beautiful Potomac Highlands at 5 p.m. and will feature a catered prime rib dinner by Gourmet Delights of Petersburg. The cost for the dinner train is $60 per person and reservations are required.
