Tucker students take a taste of Asia

Tucker Valley Elementary School students visit New China Cook restaurant in Elkins this week to experience a bit of Chinese culture. Some students are shown here filling up their plates.

The Tucker County students have learned basic Mandarin through their participation in the West Virginia’s Department of Education Language Leaper program, and they visited the restaurant to test their knowledge. Their teacher, Mrs. Harlan, required them to order their drinks and food in Mandarin from the restaurant staff.
