Adaland Mansion, Philippi's restored 1870 home four miles north of downtown Philippi, will open its 2012 season with a country breakfast buffet and Model A car exhibit at 8:30 a.m. today.
"Our regular guests have come to anticipate eagerly this mouth-watering country breakfast," said Ann Serafin, acting executive director of Adaland Mansion. "And we're pleased to welcome new visitors to this first event of Adaland's public season. Our seasoned visitors know all about the sumptuous buffet table laden with hot and cold homemade breakfast foods. We're confident our new visitors will come to love this event, too."
The Clarksburg Model A Car Club meets annually at Adaland for this special breakfast. Members park their cars on Adaland's parking lot, thereby providing a car show free to the public. Model A fans and car lovers in general are sure to enjoy the classic cars they will see on Adaland's lot. This particular model is the Ford Motor Co.'s car first produced in 1903.
