Annual charity raffle returning to Snowshoe

May 9, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

The Snowshoe Foundation is gearing up for its main event, the Treasure on the Mountain $250,000 raffle to benefit nonprofit organizations such as the Boy Scouts, public schools, public libraries, child and youth advocacy centers, prevention coalitions, fire departments and much more.

"Treasure on the Mountain is one of the highlights of our summer at Snowshoe," said Frank DeBerry, Snowshoe Mountain Resort's president and COO. "First of all, it's a ton of fun. We give away a quarter of a million dollars' worth of cash and prizes over the course of four hours, there's great food and a lot of excitement on the Mountain. The odds of winning are about as good as you can get, and most importantly, we're raising funds to help support several worthy causes within our community and the surrounding communities."

A 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible v6 2LT grand prize tops the raffle. The prize drawing will take place Aug. 4, beginning at 3 p.m. The event includes live raffle drawings every 5 minutes, live DJ entertainment, side raffles and free food. More than $250,000 in cash and prizes will be given away, including new cars and trucks from Elkins Performance Motors and Fordland; a Harley-Davidson motorcycle; ATVs; laptops, iPads, appliances and cash awards ranging from $1,000 to $30,000.

Each year, the Treasure on the Mountain raffle at Snowshoe Mountain gives out huge cash awards, new cars and trucks and lots of other prizes. This year’s event is set Aug. 4.

Each $100 ticket for the Treasure on the Mountain raffle is an all-access pass to the raffle grounds, prize displays, music and food concessions.

"This event is awesome," added Voras Haynes, longtime board member with the Snowshoe Foundation. "The food is incredible, the prizes unbelievable, and the great thing is that the proceeds allow the Snowshoe Foundation to fund organizations in our community. This a day that you don't want to miss."

Treasure on the Mountain ticket buyers must be at least 18 years of age. Winners need not be present to win, and each ticket contains two numbers and is eligible to win more than once.
