A 20-year old Petersburg resident entered a guilty plea recently in United States District Court in Elkins before Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
Kevin G. Thompson Jr. entered the plea May 21 to one count of possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine on Dec. 9, 2011, in Hardy County, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II.
Thompson, who is on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert H. McWilliams Jr. and was investigated by the Grant County Sheriff's Department, the Monongahela National Forest/Law Enforcement and Investigations and the West Virginia State Police.
