U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., recently announced three Economic Development Administration grants for West Virginia.
Region VII (Upshur County), Mid-Ohio Valley (Wood County) and Eastern Panhandle (Berkeley County) Regional Planning and Development Councils each will each receive $70,000 investment grants to establish an economic development planning framework, process and strategy that supports private capital investment and job creation in the region.
"We can't revive the national economy unless local communities grow stronger, too," Capito said in a news release. "EDA grants help communities in West Virginia implement plans to make local economies more prosperous. I am pleased to see investments like these come to West Virginia, and I know they're getting put to good use."
This EDA planning investment supports development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy in the region served by the respective district.
