Tennessee man arrested on two counts of attemped murder

A Tennessee man has been arrested in Upshur County on two counts of attempted murder, according to reports from the Buckhannon Police Department.

Lt. Doug Loudin reported that police responded to the Wildcat Lounge late Friday evening in reference to an altercation.

According to the report, 48-year-old Dwight Smith, of Knoxville, was arrested on two counts of attempted murder after allegedly attempting to stab two individuals during the altercation.

Smith was transported to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail by Buckhannon police officers, where he is being held without bond as a pre-trial felon. The Upshur County Sheriff's Department assisted with the arrest.

The incident is being investigated by the Buckhannon Police Department.
