Police discover meth lab; arrest 2 Upshur residents

Two French Creek men were arrested Sunday in Upshur County on charges that they were operating a clandestine methamphetamine lab.

According to the report from the Upshur County Sheriff's Department, deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant when they discovered the lab in the Grand Camp Road area. Deputies had been searching for Josh Tenney, 24, on charges of obtaining and transferring stolen property and leaving the scene of an accident.

The police report said deputies received information that Tenney was at a residence on Grand Camp Road. When deputies arrived at the residence, some people reportedly fled from the residence and deputies pursued them on foot. After apprehending those who fled the residence, deputies investigated the scene and discovered a methamphetamine lab in operation. A technician from the West Virginia State Police was dispatched to dismantle the lab.

Tenney was charged with attempting to operate/operating a clandestine methamphetamine lab, as was Robert J. Tiffner, 19.

Tenney is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $125,000 bond. Tiffner is also lodged in the jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
