Isabelle White Nutter celebrated her 85th birthday June 10.
Ms. Nutter was born on June 10, 1927, in Volga, the daughter of the late A. Ray White and Ethel J. White. She is the sixth of 11 children.
In 1948, she was married to the late David W. Nutter. Their union produced six children, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In 1971, Ms. Nutter took a position as an office assistant with Randolph County Schools. Shortly thereafter, while having a husband and five boys at home, she completed a correspondence course through Parkersburg Community College, so she could earn an additional $20 per month. In 1973, she changed positions to kindergarten aide and remained in that position until she retired in 1986. While in that position, she affectionately became known as "Miss Nutter" and helped get many children started with their education.
During retirement, Ms. Nutter has been a devoted member of the Phillips Chapel Church, an active member in the community and continues to be an inspiration to her family.
To celebrate her birthday, a party was hosted at Philips Chapel Church on June 10.
