Tucker County Board of Education President Eldon Harper encourages the board to continue its dedication to the county’s schools during his final meeting as a member of the BOE. During the meeting, Superintendent of Schools Eddie Campbell presented Harper with a commemorative plaque as a recognition of his counsel, guidance, tireless service and dedication to the Tucker County educational system. ‘Eldon has been serving our educational system since 1968 — since I was 1 year old,’ Campbell said humorously. ‘I have only had the chance to work with him for one year, but I have learned so much from him. He has been a blessing. I know we will all truly miss him.’ Harper was defeated by Turner in the May primary. Incumbent Marvin E. ‘Bud’ Parsons won a bid to return to office.
