The Lewis County Theatrical Group is proud to present "Godspell," its 2012 summer musical.
It is sponsored in part by the Lewis County High School Theatre Club.
"Godspell" will be performed this weekend in the LCHS Auditorium at 205 Minuteman Drive, Weston. Show times are set for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
"Godspell" is a musical by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak. The structure of the musical is that of a series of parables, based on the gospel of St. Matthew. These are interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns, with the passion of Christ treated briefly near the end of the performance. The word "godspell" is an archaic Old English spelling of the word "gospel." It is a high-energy show that will have the audience captivated from the first note to the last.
The cast includes Justin Roth as Jesus, Doug Seckman as John the Baptist/Judas, Becky Warder, Teneille Garton, Sarah Nale, Jeremiah Smallridge, Jessica Tichenor, Kayla Sleigh, Kelley Marsh Skinner and Derrick Hardman.
The director is Laura Meese, the assistant director is Chad Clem and the musical director is Joshua Stubbs.
Admission will cost $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors and students. Group discounts are available.
