Independence Day will be celebrated at the Buckhannon-Upshur High School stadium with music, games and fireworks. Events start at 5 p.m. July 7.
Live music by South of the River Band will kick off at 6 p.m., while children's activities continue all evening. Since emerging in 2006, South of the River Band has opened for numerous Nashville artists and has recorded its first debut single "Goodbye" which was mastered by Emmy Award winner David Traugh. Activities include a children's bounce house, playground, Independence Day give-a-ways and food concessions.
As the evening sets in, the America Legion and VFW will perform the Presentation of Colors. The National Anthem will be performed by South of the River Band.
The annual fireworks display will start at dark, between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
