Fireworks planned for Saturday evening at Buckhannon-Upshur High School have been canceled by organizers based on the recent storm, power outages, dry weather and excessive heat, along with other issues out of control of event planners.
Vicky Kelley, president of the West Virginia Strawberry Festival Association, said the fireworks might be rescheduled for a later date. The West Virginia Strawberry Festival Association is the main sponsor of the fireworks event.
