A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday morning in the Walkersville area, Lewis County Sheriff Mike Gissy said.
The victim's name is not being released until family members have been notified, according to a news release. The victim appeared to be in his mid-20s, and the initial report of the incident came as a result of a 911 call.
Several police and emergency agencies responded to the scene to assist the Sheriff's Department.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional details are not yet available.
