Humane Society receives donation from quilting group

July 28, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

On July 23, members of the Buckhannon Quilters at Heart guild made a $750 donation to the Upshur County Humane Society.

Barbara Lane, president, and Christina Helmick, secretary, presented the check to Vickie Lough, a volunteer with the Upshur County Humane Society.

The money was raised through the sale of a king-sized quilt, which was finished by the guild and displayed in the local area.

Humane Society representatives appreciate and are pleased with the donation from the quilter's guild, which will be used to help abandoned and lost animals. More information about the Humane Society is available by calling 304-471-7387.
